Request for 2026-27 School Bus Transportation
Want a safe and reliable way for your child to get to and from school in 2026-27? LAUSD has bus seats available! Visit https://www.lausd.org/schoolbus for step-by-step instructions on how to request transportation services for the 2026-27 school year via LAUSD’s Parent Portal. Sign up by May 31, 2026. All new and returning students must request transportation via lausd parent portal each year. If you’ve already made a selection for 2026-27 or if your child is currently receiving Special Education transportation, no further action is needed.

LAUSD bus transportation opt-in for the 2026–2027 school year is done through the LAUSD Parent Portal from April 1 to May 30, 2026. Parents must log in to the portal, select their child, and click "Transportation" to register. Opt-in is required annually for most students to secure a seat, as seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
How to Request Transportation for the 2026–2027 School Year
- Log in to your Parent Portal account. https://parentportalapp.lausd.net/parentaccess/
- Find your student and click the “View Student Details” button.
- Click the blue “Student Menu” icon.
- Select the “School Bus” icon.
- Click on the "Request Transportation Fall 2026–2027" tab.
- Check the box that says: “Check this box if you are requesting transportation for your student for the 2026–2027 school year.”
- Complete all required fields.
- Click the green “Submit” button to finalize your request.

Key Transportation Details
- Eligibility: Transportation is generally offered to students living more than 1 mile (elementary) or 2 miles (secondary) from school.
- Magnet & Special Programs: Magnet students must opt-in via the Parent Portal.
- Route Info: Final routing information for the 2026-27 school year will be available in mid-July.
- Support: If you cannot use the portal, call the Family Hotline at (213) 443-1300 or contact the Transportation Services Division at 1-800-LA BUSES (1-800-522-8737).
- Current Irving Families/Students: If you need to set-up an LAUSD parent portal account,you will need a unique PIN (only if its your first time) Please contact the office at 323-259-3700 for more information and to obtain pin.
- New Students to Irving for thre 2026-27 school year: If you need to set-up an LAUSD parent portal account, your current elementary school will have a PIN for you. We do not have access to new student parent PINS yet.
- NON-LAUSD students, you will not be able to set up an LAUSD account. You must email me at [email protected], so I can out in a request for you. This is only allowed for students who are not attending an LAUSd school at this time.
If you have previously opted out of Irving or LAUSD notifications and need to opt back in, you can text "START LAUSD" to 91841.

Información clave sobre el transporte
